The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) announced that global semiconductor sales reached $49.1 billion in May 2024, marking a significant 19.3% increase compared to May 2023 and a 4.1% rise from April 2024.

Key Highlights:

Year-to-Year Growth: The semiconductor market has consistently grown each month in 2024, with May seeing the highest year-to-year increase since April 2022.

Regional Performance:

  • Americas: 43.6% year-to-year increase, 6.5% month-to-month increase.

  • China: 24.2% year-to-year increase, 5.0% month-to-month increase.

  • Asia Pacific/All Other: 13.8% year-to-year increase, 3.0% month-to-month increase.

  • Japan: 5.8% year-to-year decrease, 1.6% month-to-month increase.

  • Europe: 9.6% year-to-year decrease, 1.0% month-to-month decrease.
